Original music should come with proof.
Tonada adds ACRCloud's advanced audio recognition technology to its production pipeline and records the results for every track in each customer's Music Licensing Certificate
Every track Tonada produces, for individual brands and for its premium catalog, is now scanned with ACRCloud's recognition technology before it reaches a venue.
Every venue that plays music has a rights question hanging over it, whether or not anyone has asked it yet. Most brands answer it the traditional way: a licensed playlist, an annual invoice from a collection society such as STIM, GEMA, ASCAP or BMI, and a quiet hope that nobody looks closer.
Tonada built a different answer. It is a music production company. Its in-house team produces every track, listens to everything before it reaches a venue, and gives each brand its own exclusive library that no competitor can play. None of it is registered with any collection society. Never registered, so never royalty-bearing. One subscription, everything included.
That model rests on one word: original. Tonada already copyright-scans every track before delivery. Today it is announcing a partnership with ACRCloud that makes that scanning considerably stronger.
Every track, scanned before it plays
Tonada has partnered with ACRCloud, the audio recognition company whose technology identifies recordings at scale for streaming platforms, distributors and rights organizations around the world, drawing on a reference database of more than 150 million tracks.
Every track Tonada produces, whether for an individual brand or for Tonada's premium catalog, is now run through ACRCloud's advanced recognition technology before it is delivered. The scans add further layers of copyright protection on top of Tonada's own production and review process, checking each new track against the world's existing recorded music.
Written into the certificate
Every Tonada customer receives a Music Licensing Certificate, issued to their brand. It covers the brand's Tonada license, every track Tonada has produced for it, and confirmation that none of that music is registered with any collection society. The certificate now also records the copyright scan results for every track in the catalog.
That makes it a complete answer. The certificate confirms that the music playing in a venue was produced by Tonada, that it is exclusive to the brand, that it is not registered with any collection society, and that every track has been scanned against existing recorded music. If a PRO or an inspector asks about the music, the customer hands it over.
Why now
The rest of the music industry is moving the same way. Distributors and streaming platforms are adopting pre-delivery scanning because unlicensed derivative works and unverified uploads now arrive at a volume that manual review cannot catch. Music is checked before it reaches a platform, not after a claim does.
Background music in physical spaces has never had that standard. Venues run on trust: a playlist someone picked, an invoice someone pays, and a rights situation nobody in the building can fully explain. Tonada's view is that ambience is infrastructure, and infrastructure should be auditable. A brand should be able to prove, on paper, that every track in every one of its locations has been checked, the same way it can produce a lease or a food-safety certificate on request.
The strengthened scanning is included for every Tonada customer, in every zone, at no additional cost, and covers Tonada's full catalog effective immediately.
